Road Test

27th August 2010 : I've not had a road test yet but fired it up last night and have just taken it for its first spin along the Devon lanes. The sound is really lovely for a 350 and I can feel that it pulls nicely. It is being settled in at the moment so no wide open taps for the time being. The gearbox and clutch are perfect and feel like new. The riding position is very sporty and it does feel like a racer.

The float chamber goes into freeflow if the motor is not running so the petrol tap should be closed after the chamber is initially flooded. The throttle cable needs to have its inner shortened and I've not quite worked out how to properly use the 'easy start' lever on the carb. There was not enough air in the front tyre so the steering was a bit heavy. There is a bit of oil blowing out of the pushrod tubes and I have probably over oiled but expect that when the oil has gone and the automatic pump delivers its drip that this will reduce.
