This is a 1958 Venom which has been 'clubmanised'. It has dropped bars (ace bars), rearsets, alloy rims, twin clocks, clubman tank and swept back exhaust.

A huge amount of time and money has been spent on the bike recently. The engine was rebuilt around 500 miles ago so it's just about been run in.

Much more recently (pile of receipts) the head was re-built (Jan Hoogesteger, £550) and it has a new carb (£312), Thorspark ignition (£160), new fork springs, Velocette club paper oil filter and many more parts.

There is an Alton generator to keep the battery charged.

Compression is high and it has to be started by the book from cold. Clutch is feather light and it feels and looks almost like a new bike.

In a perfect world it would have a fancy front brake. Currently the brake is 'ok for a fifties bike'.

I have only started it once as the winter has hit Devon but I took it for a twenty mile bimble but have not yet opened it up properly. Come on summer, I am ready!
